Say hello to Paula Lowe. Paula, having been with VASEY for over 16 years, is our Payroll/HR Admin Assistant. She wears several hats, but her primary responsibilities include Payroll, Benefits, HR Admin Assistant, Accounts Payable Backup, office supplies and IT support. One of her fondest memories involved helping Bill Vasey (Founder) and his wife, Karen, return to Florida. Paula visited family, friends, former co-workers, and her old Florida stomping grounds.
Paula is such an asset to our company. She has an insatiable appetite for learning, knowledge, and growth; plus, she catches about anything we throw in her direction.
Her hobbies include craft and card making, scrapbooking, and anything with paper. Married to her husband, Bodi since 1986, they have two children: son Joshua, 30 (in Utah) daughter Kylie, 27 (in Carmel).
Calling herself a gym rat and gear head at heart, Paula loves Mexican style food, roller coasters, walking, all things Star Wars and Marvel Studios. With a little Bob Seger coursing through her veins and “Old Time Rock and Roll,” she loves 70’s and 80’s music. Spending many days at the racetrack and drag strip in her youth, she was one of Terre Haute’s go-to people for off-road 4-wheeling in her 79’ Jeep CJ-7.
Paula’s never forgotten the most valuable lesson learned, “My Daddy taught me to never be afraid to tackle a job without trying it first.” She fondly shares they spent many hours working under car hoods together. Paula, a bit of a daredevil, loved going places where she was told, “girls don’t do that” and subsequently proved them wrong. She even owned and rode a motocross bike in her teens.
A couple of fun facts: Paula’s nickname has been with her since 6th grade when there were five girls named Paula in one class. So, Paula Jean Hoff became “PJ.” She is a Past Honored Queen from Bethel 88 in West Terre Haute (in the Masonic Order). She was a Voluntary Executive Board member with the Avon Marching Black & Gold and managed all the school concessions stands for six years. She was in the West Terre Haute High School Show Choir, and they were honored with a 30-minute TV spot and an album recorded at St. Mary’s of the Woods College.
Stop by and say hello to Paula!
